YOUR TRUSTED & EXPERIENCED LOCAL WATER LEADER
My name is Neal Meyers, your Olivenhain Municipal Water District (OMWD) appointed Board Director in Division 5, which is generally located in the La Costa communities of South Carlsbad. In November 2022, I will be a candidate on the general election ballot for Division 5. I’d be grateful for your consideration and vote!
As one of five Directors, my job is to ensure that OMWD continues to provide all residents with safe, high-quality, and reliable water without wasteful spending or unnecessary rate increases.
My duties as Director include representing Division 5 at monthly Board meetings and serving on three vital committees: water conservation, facilities, and safety. I regularly attend local and regional water-related meetings, statewide water district-related conferences, leadership training symposiums, and seminars. I have accomplished much as Director, and I hope to serve and protect OMWD ratepayers and customers for many years to come.
I have lived in La Costa since 1986 with my wife Lori, a counselor at Palomar College. Here, we raised three wonderful children who attended local public schools.
For 38 years, I actively practiced law in North County, defending individuals, businesses, and public agencies in civil claims and lawsuits. As a businessman, I co-founded and ran a successful law firm for over a decade. In my role as an OMWD Director, I completed the 2021 Special District Leadership Academy, and in 2022 I received my Certificate in Special District Governance.
I received my undergraduate degree in political science with a concentration in local government administration from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where I earned Highest Honors. I graduated from law school at the University of San Diego.
Please visit my Issues and Update page for more information about my position on water matters and good governance. I also want to know which local water issues matter most to you and your family. Please complete the Poll on this page. Contact me via email. I’ll respond as quickly as possible.
